We enjoyed having my older brother and his family in town for Easter. We were looking forward to spending lots of time outside including the Botanic Gardens egg hunt.....until we checked the weather!! It was supposed to rain the entire time that the Perry's were in town!! Plan B was put into place quickly!!
James and his family arrived on Friday night. We ate dinner wtih mom and just let the kids play. On Saturday I had several games ready for the kids including an indoor egg hunt with a few twists. We started off by splitting the kids up into teams. Anna with Drew and Caroline with Blake. We had an egg hunt with clues for round #1, the second round included a work scramble, round #3 included the golden eggs with money included. Round #4 was to dye the easter eggs and finally I showed the kids the Resurrection Rolls and included the Easter story. It was a fun morning and more than made up for missing all the planned outdoor activities.
We spent Saturday night at my dad's house and the cousins enjoyed seeing Benjamin, Graham and Ruthie for a bit. The NCAA tournament was in full swing so we always had the games on television to watch.
We had a rainy Easter sunday, so all pictures were done inside. Luckily by the afternoon it had warmed up and the sun was out. We enjoyed brunch at the Zyriek house with yummy french toast made by Gary. We had a great church service and then let the kids play most of the afternoon. That night we had a birthday party for James since he was turning 42 on Monday. Never to early for cupcakes and celebrations!
Monday was a nice day to relax and sleep in!! We joined friends at the Zoo for the afternoon before Anna was off to Charlotte's Web practice. Great and fun weekend with the family in town and remembering the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Happy Easter!!
