Showman Triathlon

Gary had the Showman Triathlon this weekend at Herb Parsons Lake. Only about 20 minutes from home which was great, but started at 7am which meant early rise times for us all. The girls were excited to see Gary race again and quickly volunteered to help at the finish line again like they did in Forrest City 2 weeks ago. Gary thought he would have a good day but of course was still nervous.

Gary placed first in the Masters' Age Group but did not feel great about his effort. Bike was hard and the heat really hurt him on the trail run. We have been having such oppressive heat and the humidity on top of the actual temperatures is making it nearly unsafe to be outside, especially exercising, for long periods of time. We were so proud of Gary and stayed around for the awards ceremony. The girls walked up with Gary to collect his prizes and were excited to then return to the a/c of the car for the ride home!
